Great-hearted Sucellus, open-handed god,
beloved of bountiful Nantosuelta,
strong-armed one, friend of the farmer and the smith,
for a good life we thank you, O god of simple
joys and pleasures. Sucellus of the hammer,
good striker, granter of blessings dear to all men,
master of the grape and the rich red wine,
you take in hand the golden grain and turn it
to bitter ale; for the gift of ease and ecstasy
we thank you. In ancient days were you well honored,
Sucellus of field and forest, given prayer
and offerings; this day I honor you once more.
