Gracious Alaunus, well known in the heart of Gaul,
god of the healing hand who knows well the ways
of staunching a free-flowing wound, of mending
broken flesh and bone, of cooling a fevered child;
god of the small voice that speaks in dreams and visions,
I call to you. Alaunus, granter of concord
among comrades, of amity among strangers,
of understanding among clan and kin,
your favor falls on those who seek the commonweal,
your wrath on the thief and the swindler. Alaunus,
god of the honest and the honorable,
the open-handed and the good, I praise you.
