of hill and of mountain, I offer you my praise.
Graceful goddess of the wild whose firm hand
and gentle voice make tame the savage boar,
sharp of tusk and fierce of spirit; upon the back
of the baleful beast you ride, with neither fear
nor trouble to hinder your journeying.
Fair is the land of your people, Arduinna,
high-peaked and deep-valed, with rivers swift and stony.
The beasts of the wood are yours, O goddess,
and those who hunt in your domain must pay your fee.
