Belenos of the bright-lit sky, shining forth
between the clouds, I praise your presence and your name.
From the blue southern seas to the snow-tipped Alps
to the storied isles of Britain, well-known you were
to those who walked the green sod of Gaul. Belenos,
shining one, your shrines stood strong across the land;
many were the gifts given you by the faithful
and the thankful, pretty things carved in oak and stone,
sweet fruit and cakes; many were the blessings granted
to the ailing and the desperate. Kind-hearted one,
protector against plague, god of merry May,
I offer you all honor and reverence.
