I call to Boann, goddess of the waters,
goddess of the ebb and flow, the power
of persistence, the gentle stream that makes its mark
on soil and stone alike. Beloved of the Dagda
who held the sun in place throughout your ripening,
throughout your travail, mother of fair Aengus,
born of love and treachery. Willful woman,
maker of the rushing river, swiftly you ran
from the surging well, fleet of foot; bearer of wounds
of body and of heart, you know that things of worth
may have their cost. Boann who looses the bonds
of knowledge, Boann of the white cow, I call to you.
