I call to Britovius, father of many,
great maker of men, whose gift it is to fire the soul,
to grant force of will and firmness of purpose.
Bold Britovius, best of all warriors,
stout-hearted and wise, champion of the battlefield,
defender of home and family, who guards the gate,
who watches the border, who is the safekeeper,
the sentry, in you did the faithful place their trust
so long ago, to you did they turn in desperate times
for strength and solace. Britovius who chooses
victor and vanquished, who shows us the way
to an honorable life, I offer you my praise.
