I call to Danu, mother of the shining gods,
mother of children strong-willed and wise, goddess
whose power we know in rivers, in the flow
of time, whose shape we see in the curve of the hills.
From the sky came your far-famed kindred, O Danu;
to the land they traveled, to the sea they sailed,
within the earth they dwelt. Goddess of the waters,
goddess of the world, we say your name out loud
and hear it echo through the vales, through the years,
as if not a day had passed since first you trod
upon the stone and sod of Eire. Danu, goddess,
in bright skies and in mist I honor your might.
