I call to Haeva of the broad northern plain,
older than the worm, older than the might of men.
Haeva, keeper of promises, granter of prayers,
guardian of kin and of clan, you who upholds
the bonds of blood and of heart, whose hand it is
that rocks the cradle, whose song it is that soothes
the weary child, your blessings fall, O goddess,
on those who join together in love and labor,
those who know the gift of a happy home,
the comfort of a place by the fire. To Haeva
who is the refuge and the strength of family,
I honor your name, I thank you for your many gifts.
