I call to deep-hearted Hludana, great goddess
whose roots reach into the heart of the black earth,
whose strength could shatter the stone within. Hludana,
yours is the bitterest cold, the distant hearth-fire,
the time for the beast and the seed to slumber;
yours the hidden hours, the deeds cloaked in darkness,
yours the safe haven amidst the savage storm.
Kind Hludana, your name once carved in solid stone
with gratitude and care, that all might know your goodness
and your might, that all might understand the love and faith
that bound to you the men and women of your lands.
I honor you, Hludana; I ask your blessing.
