Great and noble Nerius of water and wood,
of a sweltering summer, a winter bleak
and bitter, I call to you with words of reverence.
The broad, steady river, carrying coin to your people
and people to your land; the healing spring
where the afflicted would bathe and be made sound;
a bounty of goodness and grace, an open hand
and a tender heart, such blessings you bring about,
such gifts you bring into being! O ancient one,
your name and your fame drew the faithful in droves,
your powers well known, your promises well kept.
Merciful Nerius, I praise and honor you.
