I call to good Visucius of the borderland,
god of the black bird, god who knows. Visucius,
once you were well honored along the broad blue Rhine,
its waters sweet and cold; so many battles fought,
so many fortunes won and lost, fortresses raised
and ruined, all in your domain, O god who watches
the waterway. Visucius of the swift river,
friend of the merchant and the peddler, whose hands
are filled with coins of bright gold, who guides the flow
of fortune, I offer you words of reverence
and praise. Visucius of the vine-covered hills,
gracious and merciful one, I honor you.
